About
We built the compliance tool we wanted handed to us.
UserGuard is a cookie-consent and web-accessibility platform for site owners and the agencies who look after them. One script, evidence you can check, and a record you can hand to somebody who asks.
What UserGuard is
A platform that scans your site, gates your tags, records every choice, and publishes the documents that describe it.
You add one script tag. UserGuard scans the site and verifies each cookie from real evidence, holds non-essential tags until a visitor decides, records that decision against the exact banner version it was shown, and generates the cookie policy and accessibility statement from the inventory rather than from a template.
The tracing is the product. Most compliance tools produce a confident document nobody can follow back to an observation — and a document nobody can follow back to an observation is one that fails the first time it is questioned. Everything here is built the other way round: the evidence first, the paperwork out of it.
How we work
Four positions we don’t move on.
Evidence over assertion
A record becomes a cookie only with real evidence — a Set-Cookie header, an HTTP-only record, or a document.cookie value. Scripts, pixels, iframes and storage keys are disclosed in their own section. They are simply not called cookies, because they are not cookies.
No dark patterns, including ours
Accept all and reject optional are the same button, in the same accent colour at the same size and weight, and neither is pre-selected when the banner opens; the preference centre has a one-click reject all of its own. We will not build a nag loop, a pre-ticked box, or a hidden reject — consent gathered that way is not worth recording, which makes it worthless as evidence too.
We don’t sell compliance
No tool makes you compliant on its own, and the configuration remains yours. We supply the tooling and the evidence; the judgement stays with you and your counsel. Our own accessibility statement says the same thing about our own site, including where it falls short.
Pricing that doesn’t punish honesty
Ten dollars a site a month, whatever the traffic and whatever the scan finds, with volume discounts that apply themselves. Charging per cookie or per visitor gives a vendor a reason to over-report and gives you a reason not to look.
Every managed site gets the whole workflow — scanning, banner, consent log, generated documents and the accessibility widget. Nothing about consent behaviour is held back for a higher tier: geo-targeting and Global Privacy Control are never paywalled. Questions about any of it go to hello@userguard.io and get answered by the people who build it.
